Since 2008, workspacebrussels is associated partner from Ultima Vez within the network.

teaching the teachers
ttt is an initiative which aims at giving an answer to a European dance scene in need of new teaching and training methods in the field of Contemporary Dance, taking into account the various forms enriching dance creation nowadays, such as dramaturgy, scenography, lighting, visual arts practices, transforming movement into film/image, dance photography. Respective activities e.g. workshops, lasting each of them about ten days - will take place twice a year at the relevant intiatives/venues of the participating co-organisers.

prix jardin d'europe

The Prix Jardin d’Europe will be awarded to a dance production presented in the frame of an Emerging Works Summit. Every year, one of the co-organizers will organize a festival presenting 10 to 14 works of emerging choreographers selected both from the European dance field and from works co-produced by Jardin d’Europe.
The edition of Prix Jardin d'Europe 2012 takes place in Vienna in the framework of ImpulsTanz Festival

critical endeavour

Critical Endeavour 2012 / Vienna
organised by danceWEB (AT)

Dance and performance have become a vital part of what can be called contemporary artistic practice. Descriptive formulae and definitional standards that are strictly movement-based or refer solely on the paradigm of stage performance no longer suffice for qualified discourse.

Critical Endeavour 2012 invites participants, experts and the interested public to rethink dance appreciation, expanding it to the filed of fine arts / visual arts, net activism, and informal communication media.

While classical journalistic fields decrease, the need for communication and discourse steadily increases. Critical Endeavour will be exploring new forms, more driven by what is possible and less done into mourning past states of the art.

This workshop/training program for emerging dance and performance writers/journalists/critics
Critical Endeavour 2012 will be taking place from July 26 – August 12, 2012 in the frame of ImPulsTanz – Vienna International Dance Festival and led by Critical Endeavour mentor Franz Anton Cramer (DE).

Special forms, such as “tandems” with guests (e.g. participants of the danceWEB Scholarship Programme 2012) public talks, improvised analysis or instant writing will be part of the programme.
