Ahmed Khaled (1985, Iraq) trained as an actor and director at the Institute of Fine Arts in Bagdad where he also made his first productions. The war changed the course of his life. The last four years he has been living and working in Belgium. Ahmed Khaled collaborated on ‘Iraqi Ghosts’ directed by Mokhallad Rasem (creative award Theater Aan Zee 2010, short-listed for the Vlaams Theaterfestival 2010) and Monde.com (Kunstenfestivaldesarts 2011). He performed in Macbeth (Greet Vissers, Kopspel 2009-2011). Khaled directed the performance ‘Gecrasht’ (co-production De theatermaker, Monty and Schel’apen 2010-2011). He also directed the performance ‘Kid-Nap’ (production by Monty, with the support of WorkSpaceBrussels), which was premièred on June 2012 in the Monty, Antwerp. Ahmed Khaled made his last project, ‘Dreams of Environment’, for the Bâtard Festival 2012, Brussels (performing next April at Stuk, Leuven).
