Basically self-taught dancer and researcher on bodily movement, Clara Guémas was particularly influenced by Sylvain Richard, teacher of contemporary dance at the Conservatory of Rennes, France, where she studied from 2003 to 2007. Her work is also marked by her meeting with Emmanuelle Vo-Dinh, on the Rainbow Project, France (2008).
She studied performance in Rennes Conservatory (2008), where she participated as a dancer questioning the absence of theatre training for dancers.
Clara Guémas works on group experiences. She started dance and music experimentation in2007 and 2009 with Elo Masing in Rennes. She workind in Ensemble blaue blume (2009-2013), connecting dance and theatre in Brussels. She did the project Intérieur/extérieur (2012-2013) in the context of the Moroccan Cultural Season and the Collectif In Extremis (2012-2014) connecting dance and other media in Brussels. She also been performing danse in public space in Beijing (2014) in the frame of an exchange project that gathered 20 dancers from China, Canada, France and Belgium. She worked on a choreography workshop with the inmates Berkendael Women's Prison, in 2012 with video, 2013 with photography and 2014 with a writing workshop.
