Jonas Chéreau was born in France in 1984. He is a dancer and a choreographer. He lives in Brussels, Belgium. In 2005, after obtaining a Master’s degree in History, Jonas Chéreau enters the CNDC in Angers, France (Centre National de Danse Contemporaine). In the summer of 2009, during the festival of Impultanz in Vienna, he participates in DanceWeb coached by Philipp Gehmacher and Christine de Smedt. Thereafter, he performs as an interpreter in the play All Cunningham, 50 Years of Dance under the guidance of Boris Charmatz. From 2008 till now, Jonas Chéreau has been working has a performer/interpreter in France and Belgium with Daniel Larrieu (Lux, Marche, Danse de Verdure, Dardanus), Michel Ozeray and Anne Buguet (Matière d’être), Laure Bonicel (Bad Seeds), Fanny de Chaillé, (Passage à l’Acte), Lilia Mestre (Moving You) and Sara Manente (Faire un Four).Madeleine Fournier was born in 1987 in Paris and currently lives in Paris (France). She trained from 1998 in contemporary dance at Conservatoire Régional de Paris (CNR) and got graduated in 2005. She entered in CNDC d’Angers (Centre National de Danse Contemporaine) in 2005, where she met among others Emmanuelle Huynh, Vera Mantero, Ko Murobushi, Loïc Touzé and Shelley Senter. Since 2007 she has been working with Odile Duboc (Rien ne laisse présager de l’état de l’eau, Trois Boléros, Insurrection) Anna Konjetzky (Tagebuch), Laure Bonicel (Bad Seeds) Emmanuelle Huynh (Cribles), Fabrice Lambert (Solaire, Faux mouvement) and Sara Manente (Faire un four). She has collaborated with visual artists Frédéric Moser/Philippe Schwinger and Boris Achour creating videos in the frame of their exhibitions in Bétonsalon and le Crédac). In 2010, she received the DanceWeb’s scolarship in the festival Impulstanz (Vienna). Since 2008, she’s developping her own research in collaboration with Jonas Chéreau. Together, they created a duet Les interprètes ne sont pas à la hauteur that has been performed in France and Belgium. More recently she started a degree of Anthropology and ethnology in France in the University of Strasbourg.
Jonas Chéreau is collaborating with Madeleine Fournier since 2008. Together they created Les Interprètes ne sont pas à la hauteur. Their work has been presented in France (La Métive, CNDC d’Angers, Théâtre de l’Etoile du Nord, CCN de Roubaix, and in Festival Incandescences) and in Belgium (Elaine Levy project and Bains Connective). In 2011, Jonas Chéreau participates in Sujet à Vif (SACD) at the festival of Avignon, France. He works there with Jacques Bonnaffé. After meeting, Jacques Bonnaffé and Jonas Chéreau join in creating the play entitled: Nature aime à se cacher. The performance took place at the theatre of la Bastille in Paris, France.Last updated : 21/03/2012
