Curiousity, cheesiness, balloons, research, tape, bodies, hair dryers, vacuum cleaners. This is what a vigilant attempt to summarize Karin Verbruggen’s artistic practice would look like. Originally from the Netherlands, Karin completed a Master’s in Performance and Creative Research at Roehampton University in London. Karin is also trained as a drama therapist in The Netherlands and works mainly with children and adolescents. They form a vast source of inspiration for choreographed movement. Her performances include the solo Dingen - which she showed during Movement Research at the Judson Church - the collaboration Heavier than Air which premiered at Over het IJ Festival in Amsterdam and My Number Ones by Belgian theatre maker Leen De Graeve in which Karin performed. In 2013 Karin received a DanceWEB Scholarship in the framework of ImpulsTanz, Vienna.
