KARIN VERBRUGGEN

Bio

Originally from the Netherlands, Karin Verbruggen has completed a Master`s in Performance and Creative Research at Roehampton University, London. Karin is also trained as a dramatherapist in The Netherlands and has worked mainly with children and adolescents. These vulnerable children form a vast source of inspiration for choreographed movement. Karin enjoys working with seemingly randomly selected ‘objects’ (music, text, movement) and rearranging them, mix them up, put them in the wrong (right?) order/relation to each other/herself/the audience. She plays with style and how to match this up – or not match this up – with the content. Karin runs into controversial topics and takes pleasure in picking them apart and digging into the ‘messy stuff.’ She has a secret love for cheesy music and reality hospital series. She recently moved from London to Brussels and has strong connections to both cities.
