Leslie Mannès (Brussels, 1982) studied contemporary dance at P.A.R.T.S and SEAD (Salzburg) and graduated from the Master in Performing Art at ULB (Brussels).
Her first performance Delusive Figures, a plastic study on the body as object, merchandise, monster, fetich and sculpture was created in 2004.
Since 2005, she collaborates with Manon Santkin and Jennifer Defays on the project By-product: a serie of autonomous artistic products exploring the relationship between body and clothes proposing to observe as a performance the way we daily stage our flesh and experimenting alternative formats of presentation in performative contexts (clothes intervention, animation film, photographic performance, videos). She collaborated in 2008 with Jasmina Douieb, Toni D'Antonio and Flore Vanhulst on the performance Let's pretend a game on the theatrical dispositif freely inspired from Alice from Lewis Caroll.
She is actually working on her new creation ...ou la brune qui adorait les sardines à l'huile. an absurd travel through the borders of fiction and reality like a detective investigation with main suspects meaning, logic and representation.
She is currently developing with Manon Santkin the research project Performance Kit.
As a dancer, she is taking part in several creations of the cie Mossoux-Bonté and in the performance
SMS and Love from the choreographer Ayelen Parolin.
She was awarded of a scholarship from the Fondation Vocation (2007).
