Manon Santkin is based in Brussels
She studied at P.a.r.t.s. from 2000 till 2004.
As a dancer and performer, Manon is collaborating with Mette Ingvartsen since 2003 ( Manual focus , Poker Face , Out of Order , To Come , Why we love action , Where is my privacy , Giant City ) and with Salva Sanchis since 2005 ( Double trio , Variations in G , Still live , Objects in mirror are closer then they appear , Now h e r e ). She is also taking part in the work of Xavier Leroy, Eleanor Bauer and Sidney Leoni.
With Leslie Mannès, she develops the project By-product since 2006, in collaboration with the fashion designer Jennifer Defays. Her and Leslie Mannès recently created L.O.C.//Local d’Opérations Collaboratoires as a framework for their ongoing collaboration.
Interested in the discursive aspect of performance, Manon often takes part in the process of other artists as a mentor, feedbacker or dramaturge.
Paralelly to her career as a performance artist, she also started to investigate sound art and created the web platform Surfacenoise together with Peter Lenaerts.
Leslie Mannès (Brussels, 1982)
studied contemporary dance at P.A.R.T.S and SEAD (Salzburg) and graduated from the Master in Performing Art at ULB (Brussels).
Her first performance Delusive Figures was created in 2004.
Since 2005, she collaborates with Manon Santkin and Jennifer Defays on the project By-product: a serie of autonomous artistic products exploring the relationship between body and clothes proposing to observe as a performance the way we daily stage our flesh and experimenting alternative formats of presentation in performative contexts (www.by-product.be)
In collaboration with Jasmina Douieb and Flore Vanhulst, they created in 2008 the performance Let's pretend
Her new creation ...ou la brune qui adorait les sardines à l'huile. an absurd travel through the borders between fiction and reality as a detective investigation with main suspects meaning, logic and representation was presented in december 10 at the Working Title Platform #01 organized by Workspacebrussels.
As a dancer, she is working with the Cie Mossoux-Bonté since 2006 and took part in 4 creations.
She is working with the choreographer Ayelen Parolin in the piece SMS and Love and with the collective Phase III.
She is currently developing with Manon Santkin the research project Performance Kit.
