Sofia Caesar's (BR, 1989) work is driven by an ongoing investigation of the apparatuses that document the moving and speaking body (such as scores, notations, photography, sound recordings, moving image, etc). In recent projects, she created devices to reconstruct documents and the power relations that enable their functioning. She works across installation, video, text, and performance, generating speculative realities in attempts to emancipate or undermine the authority within the apparatus of documentation.Last updated : 24/08/2017
