Vera Tussing (1982) graduated from London Contemporary Dance School in 2005, and has worked as choreographer and dancer in the UK, Belgium and Europe. In 2007 she began collaborating with Albert Quesada.
Over the last years they have created Trilogy, consisting of three pieces exploring musical structures:
- Beautiful Dance (2008),
- Your Eyes(originally commissioned by ROH2 for ‘Firsts’ at the Royal Opera House in 2009)
- Oh Souvenir (2011).
Individually these piece have been presented in the UK, Belgium, Germany, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia and Spain. Trilogy itself premiered at Monty Theatre, Antwerp in January 2011, allowing an evening that combines their collaborative work in one performance.
She currently about to premiere ‘You ‘Aint Heard Nothing Yet’ ( Edit), exploring how our senses are structured and manipulated in the cinematic experience. ‘You ‘Aint Heard Nothing Yet’ will premiere in May 2012 at STUK in Leuven (BE).
Vera’s research into the emotive possibilities of sound began with the creation of The Icarus Project for The Place Prize, 2010. She was part of ChoreoRoam 2010 and has recently joint the team of Work Place Artists at The Place in London.
She performs in One/Zero by Belgian Choreographer Benjamin Vandewalle which premiered in April 2011 at STUK and was presented at workspacebrussels' presentation platform WTP#03.
Vera Tussing continues to tour Trilogy with Albert Quesada into 2013.
