Every culture has its game, that is, a board with pieces and dice, cards with ladies or swords. Every culture has other types of games as well, such as codes of interaction, market behavior and politics. Some games are considered fundamental to the culture itself, and reveal something about the spirit of the people who live there, their views and expectations.
Dry Act # 2: South Domino deals with games, and through looking at games on different levels, we see how simple mechanics of winning and loosing are saturated in all levels of society. The project will use games as a way to look at social interaction, decision-making and competitiveness exploring the possible links to the social and political reality of the country in question.
Dry Act #2: South Domino is the second part of the “Dry Act Trilogy”. The trilogy is linked through a research into the individual’s being in the world today, on three different strata of society. The project is planned to premiere in the fall 2012.
