The aim is to create a performance in which the body parts speak for themselves, to reach a ‘body parts language’, a body language which lost its logics (without ending up as a robot). A crucial aspect of this research process is the use of fabrics as garments as well as body parts.
Soetkin is interested in the friction between the solid form which we are and/or portray from ourselves and the constantly shifting forms which we feel and/or neglect.
In this performance she wants to reach a point where the body has everything under control. She will use the personage of the stripper with its typical movements and code as a starting point and a means to also talk about sexuality and gender identity.
