Outline

Solo solutions started as a series of 5 short solo works (2010-11) and will now become one piece. The focus during the residency at WSB is on bringing the different pieces together in a format similar to a standup comedy show. I will not be telling jokes in this show, but rather explore modes of performativity that shift constantly. I will try to merge situations into each other in a way that the formal is confused with the informal, the personal is public, the political is one with escapism and the performer is neither herself, nor a character.

About the 5 solo pieces:  A series of situations where words and movements impose meanings obsessively on each other until they establish a new logic. My leg is a political party, my arm is a heart, my body is a dance company. I am love itself, a table is the public, and the public looks at a movement that claims to be a door.  But just before all of this starts making sense, the details evade the definition that ties them together, until the next attempt to match them up.
