Mira Maria Studer
Bio
Mira Maria Studer (1996) creates performative works that play with modes of address from both singing and contemporary dance. Born in Solothurn (CH) with Peruvian roots, she lives and works between Brussels and Switzerland.
After being trained in music and singing, they completed a B.A. in contemporary dance at La Manufacture in Lausanne (CH), continued training at La Faktoria in Pamplona (ES), and received an M.A. in contemporary dance at P.A.R.T.S. (BE). She was co-founding member of the Swiss-based performance collective noDIN, together with Sophie Germanier, Dustin Kenel and Yadin Akira Bernauer, which was supported by Danse & Dramaturgie by ProHelvetia in 2021, and premiered two works at Südpol, Luzern (CH).
Her M.A. graduation work songunsung has been shown at Love at First Sight in Antwerp and will be adapted in 2026 to a museum context at KMSKA. Her new research is supported by detheatermaker as well as by Gouvernement, with residencies at BUDA and workspacebrussels.
Her artistic practice is inspired by the digitisation of the voice in audio softwares. Their work attempts to explore the weirdly touching disorientation that emerges when something as vulnerable as the voice becomes digital. She loves karaoke.
