Bio

Maciej Sado is a choreographer, dancer, performer, dramaturg, and curator. He holds a Master’s degree in Arts from AdBK Nuernberg, a Bachelor’s degree in choreography from SNDO (School for New Dance Development) at AHK Amsterdam and a Medical Degree from the Medical University of Wrocław.

As a queer person, his work focusses on questioning normativity of all kinds, analysing socio-political ideas about the body and movement. He likes spaces in-between, being on the spectrum rather than at the extremes, escaping unambiguous interpretation. His sensibility is close to ghosts, camp minimalism, the uncanny, and dogs.

Since 2021, he has run the Patriarchs Anonymous group - a quest for queer and feminist masculinity expansion. A big part of his practice is to engage in creative processes and support other artists.

He has performed for other artists such as Ola Maciejewska, Florentina Holzinger & Vincent Riebeek, Fernando Belfiore, Laima Jaunzema, Colette Sadler, Sebastian Matthias, Tino Sehgal, Colin Self, Peaches and others. His recent work has been shown in many European theatres, galleries, and festivals. In 2016, he was a DanceWeb Programme Fellow at the ImpulzTanz Festival in Vienna. As of 2019, he is a member of the artist collective KuLe in Berlin.
