Bio

Alicia Jeannin (1985, France) is a scenographer, visual and sound artist based in Brussels.

She completed a master's degree of scenography in 2011 at ENSAV La Cambre in Brussels and an advanced Master of research in arts at Sint-Lucas in Antwerp in 2020.

Parallel to her collaborations in performing arts, she pursues a personal practice exploring language and orality. Her approach consists in following trajectories of voices and words, be it spatial displacements, historical evolutions, corporeal or emotional processes. It usually materialises in sound projects, in which she pays a particular attention to the listening devices and contexts, and the role and place of the audience. She often combines audio recordings and scenography as a medium encompassing narration, space, acoustics, body or performance issues. She tries to connect people to what is said, through sensorial and emotional experiences.
Her current project, When they speak, investigates the performativity of oral expression in politics. It has been developed in Belgium and Romania, and will be continued at workspacebrussels in June 2022.
