Hagar Tenenbaum (1988, Israel) is a choreographer and dancer based in Brussels. She grew up in Tel Aviv (Israel), until she moved to Brussels to start her studies in PARTS, where she graduated in 2014. Hagar has since then earned her MA degree in Art from ERG (École de recherche graphique / école supérieure des arts), worked on her own solo projects – Abstraction endandthings like that (2016) and Swimming-Room (2014) – and continued working as a freelance dancer for Shelly Nadashi, Mette Ingvartsen, Daniel Linehan and Pontus Petterson. In her performances she captures a catchy humorous dialogue between word, image and movement. Hagar sees the use of movement as a main guideline which can emphasize and facilitate the need to look at the image through its construction process simultaneously with its illusory quality.
