Bio

Marcia Liu (Hong Kong, 1988) is a Brussels-based dance performer and maker. Graduated from The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, Marcia further pursued her dancing in The Performing Arts Research and Training Studios (P.A.R.T.S ) in Belgium. Besides being active in performance, she has achieved a master degree in Philosophy at KU Leuven.

Investing herself as a freelance performer in different physical qualities and interpretations, she keeps on refining her skills and understandings through various embodied practices inspired by both the East & the West. She is passionate to investigate the connections between the mechanisms and motivations of moving bodies.

As a maker, she is primarily concerned with the study of experience; at present she is engaged with ways to enlarge our hospitality and sensitivity towards a heterogeneous understanding of reality. In her works she attempts to deal with philosophical questions where movement is found at the threshold of thoughts.
