Job opening: Coordinator

We are looking for a committed and engaged coordinator to support our team and contribute to the organisation’s future development. We welcome candidates with experience in strategic planning, a collaborative approach to leadership, and a deep connection to the performing arts sector.

Your responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a strategic plan for the organisation, which includes setting artistic priorities, building sustainable partnerships, and creating opportunities for development and creation. By the end of 2026, you will translate this plan into a multi-year subsidy application for structural funding (2028-2032) with the Flemish Community.
  • Ensure the mission and goals of the organisation are upheld, in close collaboration with the team.
  • Build an artistic programme of residencies, trajectories, (co)productions, projects, and public presentations.
  • Lead and support a small team of two employees: one colleague responsible for production and planning, and another who manages finances and administration.
  • Initiate and maintain conversations and relationships with artists, (inter)national cultural institutions, and funders.
  • Manage budgets and ensure the financial sustainability of the organisation.
  • Act as the primary spokesperson for workspacebrussels and represent the organisation to artists, the public, partners, and the government.

Your profile:

  • You have a strong affinity with the social and cultural fabric of Brussels, with an understanding of the diverse communities the city is home to. Living in the city is an asset.
  • You have a thorough knowledge and great love for the arts in the broadest sense and understand the challenges contemporary artists face.
  • You have experience in guiding artistic processes and demonstrate the necessary integrity and sensitivity.
  • You are empathetic and communicative.
  • Inclusion and diversity are an important focus in your practice.
  • You have strong leadership, strategic, and organisational skills and can manage multiple projects simultaneously with ease.
  • You have an extensive and relevant network.
  • You have experience in artistic administration, cultural management, or similar activities.
  • You have a high level of language proficiency and a good knowledge of Dutch, French, and English (or at least the willingness to acquire this knowledge in a short time).

Our offer:

  • A salary package corresponding to a full-time permanent contract in accordance with the CAO Performing Arts, Joint Committee 304.
  • Extra-legal benefits: meal vouchers, commuting allowance, flat-rate expense allowance.
  • Year-end bonus (thirteenth month).
  • Training opportunities through the Social Fund for the Performing Arts.
