Archival Branches
During her residency at workspacebrussels, Evelien Cammaert will be working on new research around her photographic archive that has emerged over the past few years. Ranging from study material, images that once were or were not selected, the source material for her performances and installations, but also the images that emerged from them, for example as documentation or autonomous photos.
By examining this archive, she wants to sharpen the underlying currents and make connections with recurring themes in her work such as landscape, sensory experience and memory. She wants to make the meaning and role of an archive within her artistic practice visible and from there investigate possible openings to new work.
