Blue Moon Spring

Blue Moon Spring is a dance performance on a selection of jazz music from different eras. Three dancers translate jazz concepts to the body, they move through the emotional levels of the music and tap into the mystical dimension of jazz, where the body become a vessel for the vibrations of the music to pass through.

Taking the homage as a dramaturgical principle, Blue Moon Spring looks for an embodiment of the 'jazz philosophy'. An embodiment of its rawness, playfulness, rebelliousness and blatant romanticism, as well as its moments of lucidity, of divine communication and spiritual flight. The selection of musical pieces is organised in a non-chronological order. Time becomes circular as the performers unlock the feminist charge contained within a predominantly male jazz landscape.
