CUTTING MUSHROOMS

CUTTING MUSHROOMS is a solo that gives birth to an inconstant monstrosity by drooling on the traces of an ambiguous presence.

Influenced by the cyberpunk film Tetsuo: The Iron Man (1989) directed by Tsukamoto Shinya, CUTTING MUSHROOMS makes a thwarted transformation of the body visible. In this incompleteness, a strangely inexact figure appears and radiates a sensible confusion. This mutating sculpture mixes recognisable objects and assorted fabrics that compose an abstract mythological language.

"I enter into a movement in perpetual continuity, a "walk" that explores the (de)construction of the figure. I wander constantly, getting caught up in the questions around my identity, never fixed, constantly shaped by the violence of an inhospitable environment. I externalise the sensation of fear which it is impossible to react to." - Kidows Kim
