La Ave is a dance theatre piece that aims to investigate how we can denaturalize our western two-dimensional gender construction. By looking at gender systems all around the world and looking at different variables the construction is linked to, La Ave re-integrates gender to a multidimensional concept. Gender as we know it is a static concept, as there is a supposedly straight link between body and gender.

Two major inspirations are time and language. By linking gender to time the concept becomes dynamic, volatile and constantly changing. How does this dynamism affects our body and so movement? Language shapes the reality our bodies and minds can exist in, what does the freedom but also the captivity of time and language do to our gender reality?
