Mer+

Coproduction 2018

Mer+ is a multidisciplinary art project about loss, rituals and solidarity. Inspired by the dance performance Mer- by the Brussels company ECCE, 25 pupils of the Sint-Jan-Berchmanscollege worked with the artists on an evening full of contemporary rituals.

Mer-

With the requiem music of the Flemish polyphony as a starting point, this performance takes the theme of loss as the starting point for a multidisciplinary ritual for five professional dancers and singers. For the occasion, the performance will be specially adapted to the beautiful chapel of the Sint-Jan-Berchmanscollege.

Lost & Found

Parallel to the performance, the students show their personal translation of the theme. In the last few months, together with the artists, they have translated their impressions of the performance into their own lyrics, images, songs, videos and small installations. The result is an experience trail with numerous rituals and testimonies, both large and small.
