The Book Project

The act of occupying someone else’s inner voice- The distance between your voice and my voice is what your eyes can read but I can’t say- and the (im)materiality of a book- Do you remember that time we were together and danced this or that dance?- have been research topics in Clara Amaral’s practice as an artist, therefore she finds it important to keep on orienting her research in relation to the reading and writing practice and its thinking and doing in an expanded field. In her upcoming project she is interested in exploring the format of a book and how a book can host a choreography that gets to be activated by unbinding the book and performing a series of hand gestures that put the different sheets in relation not only to each other but also to the performer’s body and the space of a table.
