White Noise

Antoine Dupuy Larbre - White Noise 16:9

In his next creation, White Noise, Antoine Dupuy Larbre delves into the fear of emptiness and the fantasy of escape in white-dominated societies. Through this work, he interrogates fiction and the theatrical frame as mechanisms that distract from the violent realities of the world.

As of January 2025, Antoine explores cultural values associated with white supremacy, such as hope and empathy (and their counterpart, indifference), inviting reflection on their political dimensions. Simultaneously, his study examines the spoken word productions of the Black Panther Party movement in the United States during the 1970s, with a particular focus on poet Gil Scott-Heron.

Slated for release in 2027/2028, the project seeks to politicize the practice of listening—an area Antoine is deeply invested in as both a dramaturg and artist. Ultimately, White Noise aims to explore the postures of allyship within artistic contexts and militant life while fostering practices of collective care.
