openoffice: on affective ways of working together

openoffice 2021-06-24 16:9

Openoffice is an informal and free meeting open to all artists and cultural workers active in the performing arts in Brussels. Every month we meet in a different place or online, to answer questions and exchange information about everything that is related in the development and realisation of artistic projects.

This session will take place at Beursschouwburg’s rooftop. Openoffice and Bâtard* invite artists and art workers for a conversation on affective ways of working together. We share experiences and insights on how to keep kindness and care for everyone’s well-being central in our collaborations, to maintain a relationship between artists and art workers, platforms and partners, and members of a team. To make values such as care, intersectionality and safe space more tangible in our individual behaviours and to be accountable for it.

Programme:

  • 14:00-15:30 - Julia Reist (arp:) and Isabelle N'diaye (Toestand) join us to share their insights on interpersonal working
  • 15:30-16:30 - openoffice open to any questions from artists and cultural workers

*Bâtard Festival has been operating as a platform supporting and presenting emerging artists. It investigates in which ways and from which grounds upcoming artists can “emerge” and it aims to cultivate a bastard spirit of artistic daringness and political reflection.

Openoffice is a project by Arts Management Agency, Caravan Production, Entropie production, Hiros, workspacebrussels and ZOO / Thomas Hauert, with support from cultuurculture.be - Cultural Cooperation Agreement (French Community and Flemish Community) , inspired by Le bureau des Compagnies du Grütli (CH)
