Research lab experimental anatomy
ArtistsPRINT THIS PAGE
This 2-week laboratory is the first preparation for a group project by Ula Sickle to be developed in 2013-14. The workshop will explore different ways of imagining the body and generating movement starting from a detailed anatomical research and moving into a more experimental and imaginative domain.
Beginning with a 5 day course of body-mind centering with Paris based BMC certified practitioner Tamara Milla Vigo, we will explore different approaches from BMC such as working from the skin, bones and muscle, to dealing with the bodies interior - the organs, glands, nervous system, the circulation of blood and the cell.
In the second week, we will continue to build on the exercises explored during the first week towards an even more experimental and imaginative approach - the opaque, dreamed or dissolving body. Techniques of hypnosis and hallucination, etc.
