Bio

Anne-Lene Nöldner is a freelance dance artist living and working between Belgium and Germany. She first studied psychology in Leipzig, then contemporary dance at the HfMT Cologne and the RoyalConservatory in Antwerp.

Since her graduation in 2019 she has been active in different work settings; from solo to collaborativeprocesses of varying hierarchical degrees. Based on this she examines her agency within her role as adancer and asks which independent creative practice and specific authorship underlie this position.

A strong focus of her artistic work is the collaboration with the artist duo Artmann&Duvoisin(Cologne, Germany), in whose performances and mediation projects she has been involved since2017. Their working practices have persistently shaped her understanding of dance as a medium inwhich to reflect about seemingly hyperpersonal concerns to then look for their broader socio-politicalcorrespondences.

During her residency in workspacebrussels for her current research project (Alternative) Icons she willbe collaborating with composer and performer Raphael Malfliet.
