Vilma Pitrinaite (LT/BE) started her career in Kaunas dance theatre Aura, then studied choreography at CDC Toulouse and Ex.e.r.ce at CCN Montpellier, as well as theatre directing at École de Théâtre National de Strasbourg. Her first project together with dramaturge Thomas Pondevie was staged at festival JT14, Théâtre de la Cité Internationale (Paris) and festival Premières (Maillon, Strasbourg). Her solo Miss Lithuania, which premiered in 2014, was presented at the Aerowaves Spring Forward festival, nominated as the best act of the season in Confluences (Paris), and toured around Europe and the USA. In 2016 she returned to Aura as a choreographer of Pandora. Recently, she presented Somaholidays at the New Baltic Dance Festival 2018. In 2019, Vilma will create a piece for the Lithuanian dance company PADI DAPI Fish and will begin a project on the figure of the rebel.
Emily Gastineau (US/NL) is a choreographer, performer, and writer, currently based between Minneapolis and Amsterdam. She collaborates with Billy Mullaney (US/NL) under the name Fire Drill. Their work has been presented in Minneapolis, St. Paul, New York City, Oakland, San Francisco, Portland, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Chicago. Her work-in-progress with Vilma Pitrinaite has been developed in Vienna, Minneapolis, Prague, and Brussels. Emily co-founded the reciprocal performance writing platform Criticism Exchange, and she produces programs and publications at the Walker Art Center as Program Manager of Mn Artists. She is pursuing a master’s at DAS Choreography, Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten.
