Co[labo]rations is a project that stimulates cultural exchange between Belgium and Canada. 2 Belgian and 2 Quebec artists will work in pairs to create 2 new performances. Gosie Vervloessem & Frances Adair McKenzie form the fist pair.
In 2010, Gosie Vervloessem began working under the name Domestic Science Club, touring alone or with others and putting together lectures, performances, workshops, recipes and installations. She regularly experiments with the laws of physics for domestic purposes, which are in fact the basic recipe for all the presentations. Frances Adair Mckenzie, who lives in Montreal, is paired to Gosie in this co(labo)ration. Frances is a multi-media artist who combines genres and technologies as a means to invoke the construction of fantastical internal and external worlds. Her work in motion-design, animation and immersive installation evokes a din of concentrated effects that meld both high and low cultural references and technologies.
