Anna Maria Häkkinen
is a choreographer and a performer based in Helsinki. In 2012 she graduated from the MA Choreography program at the Theatre Academy of Helsinki. She is currently freelancing and concentrating on developing her own work with varying working groups. She is also a member of Reality Research Center, a company of artist working widely in the field of performance. She is interested in translating intimacy, foundations of violence and the drive to acquire pleasure. Her works have been shown at the ITs festival in Amsterdam, in Greenland and in Spain.
Jarkko Partanen
is a choreographer and a performer. In 2012 he graduated from the MA Choreography program at the Theatre Academy of Helsinki. Prior to this he studied at Laban in London and at the MA SODA in Berlin. He is also a member of Reality Research Center. Lately his works have been mainly dealing with animals, violence and sexuality. His latest work Kommandopiece aka Space Invaders (2012) toured in Finland and internationally. His works have been shown among others at the ITs festival in Amsterdam and at the NEU/NOW festival in Porto. He lives and works in Helsinki.
Häkkinen and Partanen have been working together in various projects and constellations since 2009. Projects they have been involved together have varied from the field of new choreography to theatre, performance art and video works. Since late 2012 they have adopted a joined artistic identity called häkkinen&partanen to differentiate their co-authored work from their individual practices.
