Ikue Nakagawa

Bio

Ikue Nakagawa (1980, Japan) dances, acts and draws. She studied at the Osaka Art University and at the Centre de Développement Chorégraphique in Toulouse. As a dancer she worked with choreographers Frank Micheletti (Koko Doko, Mondes Monde, Coupures, Archipelago, Tiger Tiger Burning Bright) and Eun Yong Lee. As an actress she worked for director Pascal Rambert (To Lose, Toute la vie, Avant que tu reviennes, Libido Sciendi), Brune Campos, Jean-Frédéric Chevalier and Lorenzo De Angelis.

In 2018 Nakagawa created her own dance creation for the first time; a trio for the Indian dancers YUTEN. Each of her projects has its origins in her drawing work. Each series gives rise to a scenography that is realized to introduce the body and create a piece.
