MIRKO GUIDOPRINT THIS PAGE
Mirko Guido is a freelance choreographer and performer based in Stockholm.
Born in Italy in 1981, throughout his career he has been member of several dance companies around Europe and performed works of many choreographers, very diverse in their artistic approaches. He considers his professional encounters with Benoît Lachambre and Deborah Hay a turning point in his artistic approaches.
He is being creating his own works since 2008 in parallel to his activities as dancer. These performances have been presented in venues and festivals in Germany, Italy and Greece.
Since 2013 he works as an independent performance maker. Under the name Shifting Thoughts, and in collaboration with several other artists, he is being creating stage and site-specific performances, exploring themes like identity and disorientation, interrelations, multiple-affections and transformation.
Lately he is investigating the idea of fluid identities and the importance of acknowledging that we are transforming beings, in many different ways and under many aspects. The works, therefore, also explore the relation between audience and performers, questioning the perceptive and participatory level of the viewer, and unfolding around the notion of involvement and encounter.
The Shifting Thoughts works have so far being presented in Sweden, France, Germany, Italy and Switzerland.
He also works as guest performer for other projects.
He is a resident artist at SITE Sweden.
In September he will premiere the stage work Fluid Landscapes.
In the meanwhile he is carrying out the researches for the next site-specific work “Entities and Intimacy”.
