Bio

Nazanin Fakoor is a German-Iranian multi-disciplinary artist and director based in Brussels. Her visual installations and performances are worlds that the spectator can enter and influence. Through her work, she explores utopian possibilities at the intersection of recognition and alienation, aesthetics and social issues, and reality and possibility, blending video, performance, and installation with light, sound, movement and music. One of her recent creations, Rainbow, is a music theatre performance and immersive installation.

Her work has been showcased in various countries including Belgium, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Portugal, Canada, and the United States. Notably, her installations Light Drawing and Rainbow have been acquired by the M HKA Museum of Contemporary Art Antwerp as part of the Flemish Community of Belgium Art Collection.

Fakoor pursued her studies in theatre at Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich and Sorbonne Nouvelle in Paris, and later earned a degree in scenography from La Cambre School of Visual Arts in Brussels.
