Bio

Pauline Brun (1984, France) first studied Contemporary Dance at the Conservatoire de Nice before attending the École Supérieure d’Arts Plastiques, the Villa Arson and the Beaux-Arts in Paris where she develops sculpture, installation and video works. Her research and practice as a visual artist redirect her towards Dance, as she then decides to attend ex.e.r.ce (Master in Choreographic Studies) at the CCN in Montpellier. There, she begins to experiment with the stage and the context of the theater, creating choreographic works of her own. She also collaborates on dramaturgy and scenography in many other projects.

Her experimentations with codes and conventions specific to modalities of representation and exhibition invite her to work with different mediums, depending on context and location. Recently, she presented the performance Grand Bain at the Centre George Pompidou in Paris within the frame of the exhibition Museum On/Off. She regularly takes part in collective exhibitions where she presents installation or video works. She also works in collaboration with Aria Boumpaki, Noga Golan and Calixto Neto with whom she recently presented at the Epidaurus Festival in Athens. Also, she develops scenographies and assists on dramaturgical questions for choreographers such as Paula Pi, Pauline Simon and Ingrid Berger Myrhe.

She is currently artist-in-residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts of Paris.
