The work of Philippe Beloul is situated within the performing arts field, also exploring other media or other platforms such as live tutorial performances and audio streaming event. He presents his works internationally and continues to develop projects with other artists, both as a collaborator and as a performer.
After studying dance in Cannes he worked for several years as collaborator and as performer. He created and performed for Les Ballets C. de la B. with Alain Platel in La Tristeza Complice (1995). He performed in Peeping Tom's Une Vie inutile (2000) and realised the soundtrack for their show Le Jardin. He created the musical score for 5, a piece by Sarah Ludi for ZOO/Thomas Hauert in 2003. He performed with Hush Hush Hush, Walter Verdin and Alexandra Bachzetsis and played in the film Somewhere in Between, Pierre Coulibeuf's film about Meg Stuart's work. Since 2002 he has worked with Mette Edvarsen as artistic advisor for Private collection (2002) but also created and performed in Opening (2005/2006), coffee & cigarettes (2006/2008), or else nobody will know (2007), Faits divers (2008) and every now and then (2009).
His own work includes live multimedia performances in collaboration with Laurence Bosman and Philippe Sandor. The Trilogie Mon Premier Livre du Monde Animal, Mes Amis les Betes et Apprendre a Mieux Connaitre son Chien was presented in Cinema NOVA in 2002 (Audio-stream).
iMoi, 2003 and CNoel in 2007. His work was presented in De Markten, Vooruit, Kaaitheater, Nadine, Netwerk Aalst and he was invited by the Plateaux Festival in Mousonturm Frankfurt with Welcome Home, created in 2006. In 2013 he presented Le Projet Macxorciste during two months in Beursschouwburg Brussels for their Private Investigations focus and later also in Netwerk Aalst and Buda Kortrijk.
Currently Philippe Beloul is bringing the live tutorial performances to a next level with Black Mic Mac (working title).
