A THING OF BEAUTYPRINT THIS PAGE
The performance is inspired by the serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer I want to make a performance about the moment when obsession is pushing the world away until the moment that only a small detail is left. This detail becomes thousand, even ten thousand times bigger. It conquers the head in a blitzkrieg and destroys it till the moment this small detail becomes the world. A world with you as only citizen. A beautiful isolated universe that makes it’s own rules and esthetics, where the categories of sane and insane, beautiful and ugly, good and bad, are renegotiated and get a new content.
The research will be on the lazy body: What if one performer is fully controlling the other? What happens when you take the ability to control away from a person? How can you manipulate a total relaxed body? Can you push the borders of the performers beyond their comfort and intimacy zone? Can we find a state of being in which the impulse to fight or flight is suppressed and the body is completely relaxed? What does it mean to be active or passive? To give and take an impulse or to let an impulse unanswered?
