Enchaînement is Taka Shamoto’s first solo performance. It invites you into a world in which fiction and non-fiction are intertwined. It focuses on concepts such as loss, disappearance and the pursuit of memories. Shamoto realises that all her memories will disappear, and that in the future she may not even remember that she has lost something.
The basic material of the performance is a series of texts that have been donated to her by friends, directors and former colleagues: people with whom she always wanted to have a conversation, but never got the chance to do so. The movements are inspired by the choreography and music of classical ballet, Shamoto’s own professional background. Among other elements, she will transform the classical pas de deux into abstract and minimal movements.
