- GOING WEST
GOING WESTPRINT THIS PAGE
A road movie on foot (sic). A silent film in which the body and its environment support a double narrative centred on a walker (the nomad) and her mental projection (the ‘sedentaries’) …
Playing around the genres of the western and the road movie, this short film takes the body (bodies) as the main narrative support. Wishing to develop a virtual plot, this film juggles in particular with two tools from the language of cinematography: travels (long dolly shot – shoulder camera– sequence shot) and duration (latency, freeze frames, slowing down and other punctuation techniques). Superposition remains also a key word for this first film project.
In the way it is edited, Going West intends to prompt or inspire a sort of fictitious dramatisation of the images, flirting with the plot while remaining in a visually abstract context.
