KillJoy Quiz

Coproduction 2020

The expression ‘killjoy’ refers to a person who deliberately spoils the enjoyment of others. To be ‘killjoy’ is to kill all the fun, to kill happiness. But what does it mean to kill happiness today? What kinds of narratives promise us happiness, and who is precisely happy with them?

Luanda Casella - KillJoy 16:9

In this theater piece, Luanda examines how ‘denouncing violence’ can be a ‘violent act’ in itself, and how the work of killing joy can be an act of resistance and a political project.

Killjoy is a storytelling quiz — a reader’s quiz that explores both stories of atrocities and our strategies of interpretation when gathering information, forming an opinion, resisting any form of oppression or violence. Ironically enough, a comedy project.
