- KINETIC MAKEOVER
KINETIC MAKEOVERPRINT THIS PAGE
Kinetic Makeover is a dance solo giving power and autonomy to the female form. Djordjevich’s method of empowering the body is through self-imposing the task of repeatedly and compulsively moving. The work is an attempt to continuously and gradually modify actions and the sounds they produce in order to makeover the self.
In the work the body becomes a mechanism for perpetual action; Repetition transforms over time, exposing difference. Relentless actions affect and direct the body’s progression. Movements grow, shrink and pulse through the pathways of the body and through space. No one action is done the same, but over the course of time, a pathway of revolution emerges, offering new ways of seeing the human form. The various thresholds of the body are revealed through a self-directed persistence.
