In contemporary culture metaphors are being replaced by fictions, the metaphor almost becoming extinct. Fictions as the generational symptom that enable us to embody the fictitious, to live-on the desired and the dreamed-of. The main gesture of our present times is the ability to activate those fabrications in order to perfect them. A fiction is intrinsically a mixture, an amalgamation between the actual and the unrealized, amid the factual and the conceivable.
At a subcultural level, tendencies and trends are no longer perpetuated in isolation; they can be combined. At a user level, meaning us all, countercultures function as garments that we much easily access, adopt and transpose; recycled identities and an ever growing feeling for addition; ever more. Being the ability “to fiction” the fuel of those empowered by connectivity and of those encountered at manifold platforms. Recognition of one another: linkage and non-familiar ways of belonging soon follow.
The poster is the one who posts.
In Poster the mixture of live and virtual is at its very heart of the installation, almost breathing illusively.
Poster is a compo-site whose elements are spilling significance independently but all together become entirely of another brand.
