Precarryus
Precarryus departs from an investigation into the movement possibilities of patients with Guillian-Barré syndrome and from the poetry of the Russian absurdist writer Daniil Kharms (1905-1942).
It is an exploration of instability and limitation of movement. This way of moving is reminiscent of the characters from Kharms' literature: they are situated somewhere between the possible and the impossible.
The title Precarryus is based on the idea of 'care' and 'support'. On the basis of these words, choreography can mean staying close to each other, supporting each other or even taking on a caring role and guiding or following the other.
Visual artist Katleen Vinck is responsible for an intervention in the space, in which she builds on the idea of asymmetry. She allows simple objects to function as an obstacle and as a framework for the movement material.
Precarryus will be a dance performance with a capricious formal language and a turbulent energy.
