Mathias Ringgenberg sees his work as a reality show. In terms of the artist as art itself, in terms of the continuity of a popular structure for the story and in terms of having an alter ego called PRICE in wich he investigates his time to find out what the public sees in him, what remains when the story ends. Like a portrait in a museum. What part of him is visible for the viewer and which part lives on when the museum is closed, the aura around an image.
Currently, he researches on the difference between words, feelings, emotions and affects. In the book "Psychopolitik, Neoliberalismus und die neuen Machttechniken“ by Byung-Chul Han, the author talks about emotions as something performative (instant) and subjective. In comparison to the feeling as something more objective and leading towards a story. The affect fills up when you have nothing more to say, like the digital world and their way of communication (emoji per example). Off course, it ends influencing how we perceive time and the value of time. As well he likes to research the topic of cinematic sounds which give us the feeling that something is going to happen, but it is maybe just an effect for an affect? I want to work on a story structure or lets say a dramaturgy in sound. And from there on thinking of how to implement dance/ moving /presence.
