We were driven out of Paradise but it was not destroyed for that. This kind of expulsion is fortunate, because if we hadn’t been driven out of it, Heaven would have had to be destroyed.
In So Far My Black Thoughts (working title), the first performance by Collective Pluton, movement will focus on the expressiveness of the face and how it relates to the body. Through the mobility of the face, Manah Depauw, Anna Calcina Forrellad and Nathan Jardin question the idea of the solidity of the ego. This self that appears to us as conscious and sovereign, could it be, in the image of the outside world, composed of fragments? Does the apparent unity of the juxtaposed pieces that constitute ‘us’ in fact obscure the civil war raging within?
The creation will develop around two cycles; a repetitive loop in which two humans seem stuck in a no-man’s land that could be the ‘Eden garden’. But this perfect place, inhabited by vigorous bodies full of life and vibrant desire suffer the presages of a certain disaster.
