In this movement research residence, i am interested in figuring out how could dance operate under the notions of rupture and change similarly used in the procedure of collage. Change and rupture happen in dialogue with a given context ; in dance then, or in the reality of a single body, how much time is necessary to a context to be formed without this one becoming a thing ? what are those bodily reality that could act as context, and to which rupture could be perceived as such ? And if that is possible, what indicates difference and how this affects the apparent continuum of the performer’s lived experience ?
Collage is a technical procedure used in visual arts, music and cinema, where the diversity of materiality together with the way it is displayed has shown to have the potential to generate ideas and semantics relations. Some collages make perceptual shifts not with semantics but only with texture, where materiality seems to be a key stone for that shift. Under this regime of mixed aesthetics, a blurring sense of control and chance from te artist side becomes evident, how that determines what is to given to be seen ?
The aim is to and through another mental set of what could be considered coherent, to observe and challenge the possible and livable.
