Bio

Federico Vladimir is a visual artist. He collaborates with Pablo Lilienfeld since 2014. Their work has become interwoven with their relationship, starting from intimacy to explore representations of collectivity that question the hegemonic ways of narrating themselves. “Narrarse es cuidarse”, they tell each other. ”To narrate ourselves is to take care of each other".

Through speculative fiction, they try to sustain worlds in which the domestic, marginality, recreation and desire converge. In their research on transindividual narratives they have approached practices as diverse as synchronized swimming, raving and role-playing games. In their performances, videos and installations, they collaborate with relatives, friends, lovers, viruses, ghosts and other companions.

Their work has been presented in contexts such as Kasseler Dokfest (DE); Copenhagen Contemporary (DK); Cinéma du Réel, (FR); Queer Lisboa (PT); Santarcangelo Festival (IT); Bâtard Festival (BE); NAVE (CL); FIDCU (UR); Belluard Bollwerk (CH); Salmon Festival, Azkuna Zentroa, MNCARS, La Casa Encendida or CA2M (ES).

Vladimir holds a degree in Audiovisual Communication from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, an MA in Visual Communication at the Royal College of Arts in London and an Artistic Research Postgraduate diploma at APASS (Advanced Performance and Scenography Studies), Brussels. His work has been awarded several distinctions including first prize at Auditorio de Galicia and Creación Joven INJUVE.
