VERA TUSSING
PRINT THIS PAGEBio
Vera Tussing graduated from London Contemporary Dance School, and has worked as a choreographer and dancer in the UK, Belgium and Europe. In 2007 she began collaborating with Albert Quesada, creating Trilogy, consisting of three pieces exploring musical structures: Beautiful Dance (2008), Your Eyes (originally commissioned by ROH2 for ‘Firsts’ at the Royal Opera House in 2009) and Oh Souvenir (2011).
In May 2012 She premiered her piece ‘You ‘Aint Heard Nothing Yet’ at STUK in Leuven (BE), and has also presented several versions of a sound–movement installation called Sound Bed in the UK and Belgium. Both works grew out of an interest in exploring how our senses are structured and manipulated in the cinematic experience.
Vera’s research into the emotive possibilities of sound began with the creation of The Icarus Project for The Place Prize, 2010. She was part of ChoreoRoam 2010, and has joined the team of Work Place Artists at The Place in London. Vera Tussing is currently setting up a new creation called T-Dance for 2014 while continuing to develop Sound Bed. She also performs in One/Zero by the Belgian Choreographer Benjamin Vandewalle, which premiered in April 2011 at STUK and was presented at workspacebrussels' presentation platform WTP#03. and continues to tour Trilogy with Albert Quesada into 2013.
