Golestân Outil-Rouhi

Born in 1999, Golestân Outil-Rouhi is a French artist with Iranian origins / a French and half Iranian artist / a French artist with an Iranian maternal cultural heritage [...] Growing up with painter parents, she simultaneously devoted herself to dance disciplines, which she studied intensively in conservatories. After studying at the École Nationale Supérieure d'Arts de Bourges (France), she moved to Brussels in 2022, where she continued her research within the program of the Institut Supérieur des Arts et Chorégraphies (ISAC) at the Académie Royale des Beaux-Arts de Bruxelles (ArBA-Esa).

Since then, her practice has been engaged within the field of choreographic research, yet very grounded in a practice of poetic writing as well as a distinctly visual and image-based artistic practice. Today, she gives form to this research through her project Pleut sur le jardin, which extends an ongoing questioning about diasporic experiences and the individual and collective constructions that emerge within these heterogeneous socio-cultural configurations.

She also works as a performer, collaborator or dramaturg, alongside artists such as Alphonse Eklou Uwantege, Naya Alezina, and Zoe Hagen.
